👩‍🍼Here's what to put instead ⬇️ I’ 👩‍🍼Here's what to put instead ⬇️
I’ve seen a lot of birth plans that have specific directives about pushing.
For example “I only want to push on my side”.
Well here’s what I know from 20 years of experience as an OB/GYN...
You won’t know what works for you to push your baby out until it’s time.
So instead of saying you only want to push in a specific position, be open to trying different positions.
Like pushing...
🤰On your side
🤰on hands and knees
🤰closed knees
🤰with the squat bar, or even...
🤰 on your back (yes that works well for many people).
Remember...
Flexibility - not a specific position - is the best way to push your baby out.
And that flexibility goes for your medical team too.
So try something like this for your birth plan - “I’d like to try different positions for pushing and not only push on my back.”
Learn more about what to include in your birth plan by taking my free class “Make A Birth Plan The RIGHT Way!”.

Tell me, how did you push your baby out? Was it what you thought you would do?

🤱You can't control birth. Your doctor can't c 🤱You can't control birth.
Your doctor can't control birth.
Birth controls birth.
Now that doesn't mean you throw your hands up and say "oh well!". Absolutely not.
The best way to manage the fact that birth can't be controlled is to PREPARE.
Educate yourself so you can be ready for anything that comes your way during the birth process.
🤰🏼 Birth is a beautiful and unpredictable process.
Accepting that unpredictability is key to ensuring you're happy with your birth experience.
Take a deep breath and go with the flow of birth.
You'll be so glad you did.
